About Me
Experienced & Qualified Teacher
Hello! My name is Louise.
I have an MA in English Language & Linguistics and passed my TESOL exam with Distinction.
I have lived & worked overseas for over 25 years (most recently in Hong Kong & Japan) and have worked as a translator, teacher & relocation consultant. I have over 20 years experience teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language to a range of different nationalities and levels.
I work in a local college as an ESOL/ACL lecturer and also offer ESL classes here in Harpenden or remotely on Zoom.

I have taught many foreign students and after listening to their concerns wanted to develop a programme that combined my relocation & teaching experience to help students adjust and settle quickly into English life.
When they run the group sessions will teach appropriate grammar as needed but also focus on practical language and everyday vocabulary.
The conversation sessions will be looser in structure to help boost confidence with role plays of daily situations and also give a chance to share experiences and chat to other overseas students in the area.

To make English fun and to help foreign students become functional and confident in their language as quickly as possible.
