Experienced & Qualified Teacher
Hello! My name is Louise. I am a qualified English teacher with an MA in English Language & Linguistics and I passed my TESOL exam with Distinction. With over 25 years of experience living and working overseas, including in Hong Kong and Japan, I have held various roles such as a translator, teacher, and relocation consultant. I have more than 20 years of experience teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language to students from different nationalities and levels. Currently, I work in a local college as an ESOL/ACL lecturer and also offer ESL classes in Harpenden or remotely on Zoom, tailored to meet diverse English language needs.

As a qualified English teacher, I have taught many foreign students, and after listening to their concerns, I wanted to develop a program that addresses their English language needs. This program combines my relocation and teaching experience to help students adjust and settle quickly into English life.
During the ESL classes in Harpenden, I will teach appropriate grammar as needed while also focusing on practical language and everyday vocabulary. The conversation sessions will have a looser structure aimed at boosting confidence through role plays of daily situations. This will also provide a chance for students to share experiences and chat with other overseas students in the area.
